Well all good things must come to an end....I return to work tomorrow after having this past week off for vacation.
This year for our 5th wedding anniversary, we took a cruise to Mexico and visited the Ruins of Tulum. Yes we took a Carnival Cruise and everything was fine. I was armed with the patch and enough stomach medicines to make it the 4 days at sea!!
The Ruins are amazing, would highly recommend them to anyone who may be interested in ancient culture or just to see something so old and cool!! LOL. Unlike the ruins at Altun Ha in Belize, we were not able to climb these pyramids but still able to take some fantastic pictures:
Now for those who aren't aware, Tulum sits on a bluff over looking the Gulf of Mexico, so these ruins have been exposed to hurricanes, salt water and intense sunshine for thousands of years. They have also been exposed to invaders and looting. So no one can fault the government for trying to preserve these ruins.
As I mentioned these ruins are on a bluff, and there is a private beach, but I didn't go in the water. However, got some amazing photos of the beautiful vistas:
It's all very "Pirates of the Caribbean" looking and just beautiful!!
It is nice to be home, though. I REALLY missed the kittens and my pillows.... LOL!! Hopefully more car updates soon!!
