Happy Thanksgiving to All!

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Thanksgiving....  We went to Daytona Beach this year, Joe had never been to the Turkey Rod Run at Daytona Speedway, so I thought I'd take him there.  We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner out at the Chart House, spent the night at the Hilton on the Beach and spent most of Friday at the Speedway looking for stuff....

Here are a few shots of the view from the Hilton on Daytona Beach:

The hotel is RIGHT next to the ferris wheel and the crazy sling-shot thingy.  Luckily with the balcony door closed, you couldn't hear the screaming and the room darkening curtains blotted out the neon, so that didn't keep us up all night!!!

Friday was CRAZY, getting into the Speedway was a task then with the construction, you had to walk from close to turn one to turn four to walk back to the center of the track to access the infield.  I was tired by the time we entered the madness!!!!

Turn One:

Turn Four:

Leader Board:

Grandstand:

Talk about high octane!!!  112 LEADED gas....

Anyway, in our travels throughout the infield and car corrals, we ran into a 1965 Sport Fury!!  What are the odds?!??!  So of course we snapped a few photos to compare once Nite Fury is closer to completion:

Now, this Fury has Crager mags on and Joe has kicking around getting a brand called "Coy's" wheels that are very similar in style.  Once again, we are debating on:
Black Chrome:

Polished Aluminum:

That is the fender skirt from Nite Fury so we could better visualize the black car with the wheels.  After speaking with a guy who had Coy's Black Chrome wheels (in a different style), I think we may be leaning towards that wheel.  I hear the upkeep on polished aluminum is a bit of a headache while the chrome is not-so-much.
